A tabby cat and her only kitten have been inseparable since day one. They are so happy to have their dream come true together.

Earlier this year, Ashley Morrison, founder of Ashley’s Kitten Academy (in Washington), took in a mother and son duo that needed a foster home. The cat mom, Scarlet, was very timid and protective of her only kitten who bears a resemblance to her.
Ashley provided a quiet room for the pair to decompress. With plenty of soft blankets and good food, Scarlet began to relax a bit. She kept her kitten close in her arms while she gave him her undivided attention.
“She is a great mom and he is a very plump happy little boy,” Ashley shared with Love Meow.

The cat mother felt so much better after getting the medical attention she desperately needed. Knowing that her kitten was safe, Scarlet slowly came out of her shell and even let Ashley assist her with her demanding baby named Scout.
The tabby cat has many quirky, adorable looks on her face as she is missing her upper canines. “We have no clue why, since she’s so young,” Ashley added.

With unconditional love from the mom, Scout quickly figured out his purr and put it to good use every time he was nursing or getting petted.
Seeing her baby thrive before her eyes brought out the inner kitten in Scarlet. She started to play with toys for the first time, and even brought them back to the nest, so her son could join in on the fun. Scout was completely fearless and his confidence began to rub off on his mom.

With each passing day, Scarlet became braver and more open to new spaces as long as her kitten was by her side.
When they moved into their upgraded suite, Scout helped his mom settle in by running around, climbing everything he could lay his paws on, and encouraging her to check out their new digs.
“I am so proud of her as she comes out and into the open more often,” Ashley wrote.

“Scarlet is getting much more comfortable in the room and it’s really fun to see them play together.”
Ashley often saw the pair cuddled up together or lounging next to each other in the cat tree. They did everything together and were rarely apart.

“Scout and Scarlet play all the time. Scarlet is a young girl who loves to be pet, play with her toys and cuddle with her baby. Scout is an outgoing, crazy kitten who helps bring Scarlet out of her shell,” Ashley wrote.
“I could never separate these two, they are so bonded and always together when I walk in the room. They are the best of friends.”

Naiya, who had been following their journey, fell head over heels for the mother and her son. She applied to adopt them together, and it turned out to be the perfect match. They moved into their new home a few days ago, and Scout quickly claimed it as his kingdom.
The tabby boy is a ball of energy, running around the place like he owns it. Scarlet was a bit unsure about the new space at first, but seeing how hyper Scout is all the time, has helped her become more open.

The rambunctious kitten will jump into Naiya’s lap for a second and then hop right back to his mom at lightning speed for a wrestling match. Scarlet is starting to let her human pet her and doesn’t stress any more when Scout leaves the room to play.
The mother and son are so happy to have their happily ever after together!
